Tomorrow's Sunday New York Times will have an article on the front page of its Automobiles section about his beautiful 1952 Cunningham C-3 sports car. I have to admit being ignorant to this gorgeous motor car before receiving the Sunday section in the driveway this Saturday morning. If only I had known about it when I was granted my three wishes by the genie in the bottle just last week.

The NYT article points out that there were only a couple dozen of this model produced. The one pictured above was restored to near mint condition after being purchased on Ebay about ten years ago with its windshield, cockpit instruments, transmission, and dashboard missing.

The Cunningham C-3, among many other roadsters and race cars, was designed and created by Briggs Swift Cunningham II (the very sharp-looking gent, above right). Born in 1907, Mr. Cunningham fell in love with autos as a young man in Cincinnati, Ohio and went headlong into high-performance endurance racing after WWII.
